Your natal chart is a blueprint of your inherent nature.
Every placement within it contains a spectrum of possible expression, from its shadow aspects to its highest potential.
This reflects the Hermetic Principle of Polarity, which teaches that what appear to be opposites are actually two ends of the same spectrum.
Hot and cold are both temperature. Light and darkness are degrees of illumination.
The same principle can be applied to the qualities within your natal chart.
Sensitivity can express as intuition or overwhelm
Independence can become sovereignty or isolation
Passion can become inspired action or aggression
Discernment can become wisdom or judgment
The underlying energy has not changed. What changes is how that energy is expressed.
How We Get Stuck in the Shadow
Trauma, conditioning, unresolved emotions, limiting beliefs, and difficult life experiences can pull us toward the shadow end of a placement's spectrum.
Over time, these patterns can become so familiar that we begin to identify with them.
“This is just who I am.”
But the shadow expression is not the whole placement.
It is one possible expression of the energy.
